Do you remember every idle word that you have spoken? Not the words that you spoke before you came to Christ because they were forgiven if you have confessed your sins and believed in the Son of Man:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” - (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)

But what about every idle word that you have spoken since you became the property of Jesus Christ; do you remember all of them? Of course not, but guess what you will remember when you stand at the judgment seat of Jesus Christ.

At the judgment seat of Jesus Christ, every idle word that you have spoken will be replayed for you! The words that you thought that no one heard, the gossip, the slander, the foul words, the prejudice! Every word will be on display for all to see!

Do not believe me; let’s turn to our Lord’s Gospel as recorded by Matthew and review our verse for today:

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” - (Matthew 12:36 KJV)

If the words that you speak are bad, what about all of the words that you have typed! Typing is a form of speech, correct? What if in that great day of judgment all of your tweets, text messages, online chats, etc. are thrown on the screen for all of eternity to see!

See there is no outwitting the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords; there is nothing that we have done in the dark that we won’t give in account for! For as our Lord and Savior said in His Gospel as recorded by Luke:

"For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad." - ( Luke 8:17 KJV)

Begin preparing today

We do not know all of what is to come on that great day; when the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords passes judgment on all of mankind. But the Living Word of God provides us an insight that we can use to begin preparing today! If you have not been watching your words; now is the time to start!

For you do not want to be ashamed at His coming:

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” - (1 John 2:28 KJV)
