Eternity? Have you thought about where you will spend eternity? If not,...

When is the last time that you thought about eternity? Or, have you even given eternity a thought? Regardless, of which side of the spectrum you are on; this blog is for you!

Eternity Conscious

It is time to set your thoughts on eternity. Or, as one of the twentieth centuries greatest preachers once said:

“We should live each day, eternity conscious in time.”
-Leonard Ravenhill

You may ask; “Why focus on something that may never come”; for you I will say: we will live in eternity longer than we will live in time.

For our time, will eventually run out or as our precious brother James states:

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14 KJV)

Your body..

How many of us, spend our time building up our body. We obsess over what we eat, how often we exercise and how much water we can consume. We do these things to live as long as we can or at least I know I do!

But, regardless of how much time we spend taking care of our body; one day the worms will eat it up! For we must all return to the dust.

"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV)

And, when our body returns to the dust; our Spirit goes on to endure forever.

The Spirit..

The body is mortal; the Spirit is not. So, what does that mean? That means that, the Spirit is indestructible. How do we know?

Our scripture tells us that the Spirit can endure all of the torments of hell; for all of eternity! Look at the rich man, who was tormented in the flame:

"And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame."
(Luke 16:24 KJV)

This account was provided by our Lord and Savior over two thousand years ago. And as you read this today, that poor soul is still being tormented in the flame!

Eternity

Knowing that your Spirit will live forever, again I will ask you; when is the last time that you thought about eternity? Do you know where you will spend eternity? Do you know how to avoid an eternity of torment?

If you have never thought about any of these questions; it is time to think about it! It is time to confess and believe in the Lord Jesus. For as our precious brother Paul states:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)

Reader, let me tell you! You want to spend your eternity with our Christ.
