When the Day of the Lord appears; the flight shall perish from the swift, the strong shall not find his strength and the mighty shall not deliver himself!

As defined for us by the precious prophet Amos:

"Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself" - (Amos 2:14 KJV)

And as revealed to us by the Revelation of our Lord:

"And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb" - (Revelation 6:15-16 KJV)

For the Day of the Lord is near and who shall be able to stand?

"For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"- (Revelation 6:17 KJV)

Who shall abide?

When our Lord returns to take vengeance on those who do not know God or obey His Gospel:

"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" - (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 KJV)

Who shall be able to abide? Maybe those who handle the bow? No! What about those who are swift? No! What about those who will flee on the horse? No! The courageous must be able to abide, right? Wrong, the courageous will flee away naked in the Day of the Lord!

"Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself. And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the Lord." -
(Amos 2:15-16 KJV)

Verse of the Day

This takes us to our verse for today; taken from the precious prophet Obadiah:

"For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head." - (Obadiah 1:15 KJV)

Do not want to believe the precious prophet Obadiah, let’s turn to our precious brother Paul’s epistle to the Romans! There Paul reminds us that tribulation and anguish shall fall upon every soul that does evil:

"Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile" - (Romans 2:9 KJV)

Seek the Lord

Yes, the Day of the Lord will be a dark day; so how will you abide? Both you and I will abide by following our Lord’s command:

"For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:" - (Amos 5:4 KJV)

For thus said the Lord, seek me and you shall live.

Seek our Lord before it is too late. We know that our Lord did not appoint those who believe in Him to wrath but to salvation.

"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him." -
(1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 KJV)

Confess and Believe

If you are reading this and you have not accepted Christ as Lord; now is the time! Confess and believe in the Lord Jesus for as Paul states:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." -
(Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
