Reader, it is time to deal with “SELF” before “SELF” deals with GOD!
the TRUTH
How many times have you said; “If I had a little more I would give here and donate there?”
And how many times afterwards have you received an increase here or an unexpected bump there.
What did you do with it? Did you give it to support that charity that you have always wanted to support?
Or, did you use it prodigally upon yourself?
The truth is the same for many of us; we only want more to spend upon ourselves! We covet a bigger home, fancier car, more things! And, when provided more or excess we either do one of two things: spend it upon ourselves or hoard it!
the LOVE of MONEY
How do I know? Because our Lord’s Word says that for it, we will err from the faith while piercing ourselves with many sorrows:
"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
(1 Timothy 6:10 KJV)
And on our way toward doing these things to ourselves; we also lie to ourselves.
For as the wise preacher once said:
“The mouth says a lot of things that the heart does not believe.”
“quote taken from the teachings of B.H. Clendennen”
When we say that we want to “give” what we really mean is that we want to “give more to ourselves”.
And, unless we “kick ourselves” off of our own “throne”; we will one day end up like the miser who will burn in hell with his or her dollar!
SELF
The same wise preacher once reminded us to deal with “SELF” before “SELF” deals with GOD! I am writing you today to remind you of what the preacher once said.
For we are living in the last seconds of human history. And, each of us has a pending date with God; where we shall give account of ourselves.
"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."
(Romans 14:12 KJV)
Reader, deal with SELF before it is too late!
