Stop fighting battles that our God has already won!
Prophet Joshua
Do you remember the two men that the precious prophet Joshua sent to go into the city ahead of him.
If not, go read chapter two of Joshua!
In that city is where we will get today’s reminder!
Battle already won
In that city, these two men were being hidden by a woman. A woman who knew who these men were and from whence these men came.
We know because she said:
"And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you." (Joshua 2:9 KJV)
Translation:“I know who your God is!”
We know
She continues on with:
"For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed." (Joshua 2:10 KJV)
Translation: “We have heard of your God and we know what He has done.”
COURAGE in any man
And, to sum it all up, she said:
"And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath." (Joshua 2:11 KJV)
Translation: “WE are terrified of your God.”
broken promises
Reader, we serve the “same God”!
So, for you with the “still bad memory”; I have a few questions.
When are you going to let what our God has already done; speak for Him?
Why do you continue to live as if our God is one of broken promises?
our Battle
So you are facing a battle today. It is no greater than what any of the prophets faced.
Or, is it that “your Cross” is getting too heavy. Well it is not heavier than the Christ’s Cross was.
Why does our God have to keep reminding us who He is?
Stop fighting battles that our God has already won!
It is past time for you to start trusting in Him!
