Today, we will take a look at what it looks like to be truly obedient to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Noah..

Even those with the least amount of biblical knowledge have heard the story of Noah. Many speak of the “Ark” as a thing that just happened. Often, pushing aside what Noah, The Ark and the Flood truly meant.

Some focus on his son Ham, who left him in shame. But, what about Noah, the man? What about the obedient saint who received word from the Almighty God and spent one hundred years working to fulfill that task?

The Ark was not built overnight, when Noah started he was five hundred years old:

"And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth."
(Genesis 5:32 KJV)

When he went into The Ark and the Lord shut the door behind him; Noah was six hundred years old!

"And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth."
(Genesis 7:6 KJV)

What happened?

What happened during the one hundred years it took Noah to complete the Lord’s will. Think about those who knew Noah. People saw him building this Ark, can you imagine the ridicule?

Can you imagine the scorn Noah received when twenty years had passed and no finished Ark and no flood. What about forty years, then sixty, then ninety-nine years; with nothing!

The words he must have heard, the lonely life this saint must have led. All because of his obedience to the one true God!

But, when the Ark was finished and the doors were shut behind Noah and his family; I imagine the ridicule stopped! I imagine a group of people who had one hundred years to repent and they still ended up dying.

A reminder..

Today’s blog serves as two reminders: one is the example of what a truly obedient saint looks like! The second, is an example of man’s unwillingness to repent!

If you are a believer, I hope you have found inspiration in the reminder of this saint.

If you are still dead in trespasses and sin, it’s time to repent! You do not have one hundred years to decide; your time to choose is going to come very quickly.

Confess and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before your time runs out.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
