Have you ever wondered what Paul saw when he fell to the ground on that road leading to Damascus? Remember, our Lord stopped Paul’s original plans on that day; forever changing the course of Paul’s life.

"And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do." (Acts 9:3-6 KJV)
"And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized."
(Acts 9:18 KJV)

Ever wonder what Paul saw that blinded him and left scales on his eyes?

Well, we will probably never know but we do know that whatever Paul saw, made him spend the rest of his life laboring for the Christ that he once so badly wanted to destroy!

Remember

Remember, this was a man who once hated all things Christ. A man who once made it his mission to terrorize, torment and destroy the church of Jesus Christ! Now this same man was getting baptized and heading to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

“And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.” (Acts 9:20 KJV)

Not accepting deliverance

Paul, would go on to be stoned, beat, shipwrecked, face hunger and thirst, and imprisonment for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through all of it, he would choose not to accept deliverance.

Or, as stated by the precious writer of Hebrews:

“Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented” (Hebrews 11:35-37 KJV)

Paul had moved to the place where he would rather die than fail Christ!

What if…

What if you had the chance to see what Paul saw; how would that change your life? You see, Paul was once considered the worst of the worst. But, by the saving grace of our God; Paul became one of our Lord’s greatest Apostles!

If our Lord did this for him, what do you think He will do for you? If you have not accepted our Lord Jesus, now is the time! Confess and believe in Him as our precious brother Paul states:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
(Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
