Where can you find many who still believes in the majesty of that eternal court? That place where all will stand before the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! You will be hard pressed to find many today that will acknowledge the coming judgment. So, where can we find someone who will wish for the day of the Lord? Well, the righteous along with all of creation anxiously awaits the day of the return of the Son of Man:

“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”- (Romans 8:22-23 KJV)

For in that day we will be joined with our King but for the sinner that day will bring about wrath! As our verse today reminds us the day of the Lord will bring darkness, not light:

“Woe to those who wish for the day of the Lord! Why do you want the Lord’s day of judgment to come? It will bring darkness, not light.” - (Amos 5:18 KJV)

This is another reminder, that as believers it is our job not to get comfortable in our Christian lives but to continue to warn the unsaved of the wages of sin!

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - (Romans 6:23 KJV)

For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is found ONLY through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Responsibility for the unsaved

Ever wonder how different the world would be today if those who are saved would take responsibility for the unsaved of their generation? Well that is what the early church did; they went about professing Jesus Christ to any and everyone oftentimes at the expense of their own lives!

Yes, the great day of judgment is coming and when it comes it will bring about great darkness, don’t get caught unprepared!

Today is the day

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior now is the time! For we do not know when that great day of judgment will come; so accept Jesus Christ now before it is too late!

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” - (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
