Reader, regardless of what you and I may believe. Those of us today, live better than ancient kings!
Ancient Kings
Yes, you and I live better than ancient kings!
How do we know?
Name one king of old, who lived in temperature controlled homes?
Find a king who could travel around in motorized vehicles.
Not one!
Which king?
Which king could sit in his home and communicate with someone on the other side of the world?
Not one king could ever do this!
So tell me, do we not live better than ancient kings?
Contentment
So, what say you? What creature comforts are you complaining about today?
Reader, it is time to start counting your blessings!
For we know that true contentment comes from having food and raiment!
"And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." (1 Timothy 6:8 KJV)
Not from prodigally having more to spend prodigally upon ourself.
Snare
To be truly honest, we must admit that the more we get the more we want!
And, that reader, is what we would call a snare!
"But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition." (1 Timothy 6:9 KJV)
Beg for bread
We will end with the words from a king of old. As the end of his days approached, he reminded all of us that:
"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." (Psalm 37:25 KJV)
Again, we live better ancient kings.
