Let’s talk today about the eternal judgment. What will it be like? Who will be there? The answer is simple; everyone! Altogether, the small, the great, the dead in the sea, the dead that are in death and hell. Everyone! From the worst of humankind to the most precious of saints

As our verse today, taken from the revelation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ states:

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”- (Revelations 20:12-13 KJV)

Only TWO types of people

One of the greatest preachers of the twentieth century reminded me and I will remind you that there are only two types of people: those who are dead to sin and those who are dead in sin! Our precious prophet Daniel reminds us of this when he states that all will rise; some to everlasting life and some to everlasting contempt:

“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”- (Daniel 12:2 KJV)

If you do not want to believe that precious prophet Daniel; let’s turn to our Lord’s Gospel as recorded by Matthew. For the forty sixth verse of the twenty fifth chapter of Matthew states:

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”- (Matthew 25:46 KJV)

Without a doubt, everlasting punishment and contempt awaits those who die in sin and everlasting life awaits those who die in righteousness.

Safe and Secure

Now that you know or now that you have been reminded of the majesty of that eternal day; what are you doing to prepare? What are you doing to ensure that your eternity is safe and secure?

If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life; do not get comfortable! Shape up your prayer and devotional life and speak to someone about the Lordship of Jesus Christ. For as James reminds us to turn a sinner from the error of his ways shall save a soul and hide a multitude of sins

“Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” - (James 5:20 KJV)

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior; you are not prepared and need to accept Him now! For Paul reminds us:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” -
(Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
