Our Heavenly Father gave the world the prophets and the world killed them! Our Heavenly Father, sent His only begotten Son to give His life as ransom; and to this day we see how the world treats Him!

What more would we want from our Heavenly Father; who makes His throne in the heavens and has the earth as a footstool to do?

"Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? - (Isaiah 66:1 KJV)

Let’s turn to the Living Word of God and take a look at what our Heavenly Father has already done and what remains for Him to do!

The prophets

Our Heavenly Father, gave us the prophets! At a time when many were saying that our Father our God was doing nothing; He was revealing His secrets to the prophets. As recorded for us by the precious prophet Amos:

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." - (Amos 3:7 KJV)

And what did the world do to the prophets? Need a reminder? Let’s turn to our Lord’s Gospel as recorded by Matthew to see the reminder from our Lord. Our Lord and Savior as recorded by Matthew states:

"Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets." - (Matthew 23:31 KJV)

Yes, our Heavenly Father gave the world the prophets and the world killed them! What more do you want our Heavenly Father to do?

Only Begotten Son

Because we have all come short of the glory of God; our Father our God sent His only begotten Son to pay our sin debt!

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"-
(Romans 3:23 KJV)
"For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."- (Mark 10:45 KJV)
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - ( John 3:16 KJV)

And, just as with the prophets; the world wanted our Christ dead! He sent mankind a Savior and mankind could not “try” to kill Him quick enough!

He would lay His life down

Though the world wanted nothing more than to take His life; no one could take His life from Him! Instead, He would lay His life down:

"No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."- ( John 10:18 KJV)

Even when the world rushed to crucify Him, left Him hanging on a cross, took Him down and placed Him in a borrowed tomb; our Christ would rise from the grave!

Placing the hope of all of those who believe in Him; in His resurrection!

"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" - (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," -
( 1 Peter 1:3 KJV)

Yes, our Heavenly Father, sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins. I’ll ask you again, what more would you want our Heavenly Father to do?

What’s left?

As you look around at the world today and think of all of the things that you may want our Father in heaven to do: recognize that what is left is what is coming and that is His judgment! As we are reminded today by the precious prophet(s) Joel and Amos:

"Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come." - (Joel 1:15 KJV)
"Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light." -
(Amos 5:18 KJV)

Hands of the Living God

As you read this today; if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior; now is the time! Confess and believe in the Lord Jesus; for as Paul states:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." -
(Romans 10:9-10 KJV)

Remember, the Day of the Lord is at hand and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." -
(Hebrews 10:31 KJV)
