The world remember’s him as the Apostle Paul and will often overlook the fact that Paul was once; Saul. And, as Saul, the Apostle Paul was once a hunter of the followers of Christ!
The Worst
Unlike this forgetful world; us believers will never overlook what the Apostle Paul once was! WE understand that the Apostle Paul was once; Saul.
And, Saul was the absolute worst! He was a hater of all things Christ. This man enjoyed the murdering and torturing of saints.
We know because our Lord’s Word says: he stood and watched as the sweet saint Stephen was stoned to death.
"Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul." (Acts 7:57-58 KJV)
And, with Saul’s Christ hating reputation being so well known; the murderers would lay down their garments at Saul’s feet!
Yes, when the Apostle Paul was Saul; he was the absolute worst!
Blazing..
And, breathing out threats of slaughter; this horrid man set out to Damascus blazing with anger!
And Saul, yet breathing out threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest" (Acts 9:1 KJV)
This horrid man, Saul, headed to Damascus with one mission; exterminate the church of Jesus Christ!
And, on that road, CREATION would witness ONE of the greatest conversion’s that this world has ever known.
Forever changed..
On that road, The Christ whom Saul hated would have a word with him!
"And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." (Acts 9:3-5 KJV)
On that day, Saul would glance into the third Heaven. In this life, we will NOT know what Saul saw but here is what we do know!
We know that when Saul was able, he changed his name, he was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, he went on to preach the Gospel, he would suffer for the Gospel and he would become the bond servant of God and an Apostle of Jesus Christ!
"Paul, a bond servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness" (Titus 1:1 NKJV)
This man who was once a hunter of the followers of Jesus Christ; was now ready to lay his life down for the Gospel of Christ!
STOP..
Stop telling people that, “Christ makes a bad man, good”; that is a LIE!
Christ makes DEAD MEN live!
Who was more DEAD then Saul? Who has carried more sin than a torturer and a murderer?
Saul was a monster, murderous, reprobate and top of the line scum of this earth! And, our Lord with His mercy and grace said: “I’ll take him and make him a good man.”
NO!!!!
Our Christ said; “There is a dead man and I am the only one who can make him live”.
Christ!!!
The Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY ONE who can do this! There is nothing in Creation like Him and there will never exists any duplicates of Him!
He took the wretched Saul and made him one of the greatest Apostles that this world will ever know.
Redemption can ONLY be found through Him. Christ is the ONLY ONE who can take the most disgusting sins and make them white as snow:
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18 KJV)
Name me another God like Him!!!
