Believer, are you still in the race? Are you still chasing after the eternal pace setter?
Ready! Set! Go!
Believer, when you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; you entered into a race!
A race that set you down a lifetime of avoiding snares, ducking and dodging sin and hunting for lost souls.
All while staying on the straight and narrow course:
"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13 KJV)
The entrance was voluntary and so is staying in the race!
So many
Just as with any race, many get off to an anxious start!
Many start out so anxious about sharing the things of Christ.
Then, something happens!
So many begin to grow tired, slow in pace and eventually drop out!
These are the one’s who came in believing that the Christian life is a sprint not a marathon!
A “little longer”
Then, you have those who last a little longer! These are the individuals who called themself “preparing”!
They did every work and deed that they thought would keep them at the front; right behind the “eternal pace setter”.
And, one day they realized that they had fallen embarrasingly behind!
Having spent decades wasting their gifts from God; they eventually drop out of the race!
Saying to themselves: “The other’s will finish the course!”
Select few
Then, you have the “select few”. The “select few” recognizes the Christian life for what it is.
These individuals understand that sometimes the run will slow to a jog; then to a steady walk.
And, with the help of the eternal pace setter; they will gradually pick up the pace, start back jogging and pick back up running!
Again, this is the “select few”!
Now to you
As you were reading, you immediately recognized where you are!
Now that you know where you are; what are you going to do about it?
Are you going to keep “cheering” from the sidelines? Or, are you going to jump back into the race?
Remember!
Though, all of Christ’s followers run in the same race; we do not share the same course!
My course is different from yours!
My course comes with its own set of traps and snares!
Meaning, I cannot run your race for you! You cannot run my race for me!
Again
Knowing that the race will continue on without you; again I will ask: “What are you going to do?”
Believer, the choice is yours!
