One night, Campbell Morgan entered a streetcar. As he scanned the inhabitants he noticed a man sitting alone. Campbell wondered if he should share the Gospel of Christ with this man. As Morgan wrestled with himself and finally came to the conclusion to speak to this man.

He noticed that he was too late! A little woman had jumped in the seat next to the man; that little woman was Sarah A. Cooke!

Like many of the world’s greatest prayer warriors Sarah A Cooke’s ministry was in the background. You see Sarah had the job that most do not want and many overlook; she was a prayer warrior. Though small in stature her ability to bring the Holy Ghost made her mighty!

Encounter with D.L. Moody

Sarah A Cooke often sat through Moody’s services and she noticed that he was lacking true power. Her words to him was that his preaching was on a human nature and that he had yet to receive true baptism of the Holy Ghost!

So, they began praying together and one night after a prayer meeting; Moody was hit! That Holy Ghost baptism that Moody had began to chase; caught up with him! He recounted a Holy Ghost fire that was so real that he begged God to stop! Out of fear that the Holy Ghost power would cause him to explode!

Can you imagine what D.L. Moody’s legacy would have been had he NEVER crossed paths with Sarah A. Cooke!

The POWER of PRAYER

Cooke would spend her life loving and laboring for lost souls. She often grew impatient with the lack of prayer found in the church. She could not understand why preachers and pastors paid so little attention to the most powerful part of their ministry.

Her entire being believed that the lack of prayer is a sin! I wonder what she would think if she could see the so called “church of Jesus” today!

Judgment Seat of Christ

The record of Sarah A. Cooke’s earthly departure was not recorded however we will get a chance to see this powerful prayer warrior at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

There we will see the lives touched and souls saved by a little woman who answered our Lord’s calling and along the way became known as one of the world’s mightiest prayer warriors!

Sarah A. Cooke, also known as “Auntie Sarah”; one of those mighty prayer warriors and one of whom this world was not worthy!
