Today, our God is seated on a throne of mercy and grace. How do we know? His Living Word tells us so!
Just as…
Just as in the days of the precious prophet Nehemiah, our Lord is Lord alone.
"Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee." (Nehemiah 9:6 KJV)
Our God made the heavens, the earth, the seas and all things that dwell therein.
Not to His commands
Today, just in the days of the precious prophet Nehemiah, many go about each day hearkening not to our Lord’s commands!
"But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments" (Nehemiah 9:16 KJV)
And just as then, our Lord still sits ready to pardon! He is still slow to anger and of great kindness.
"And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not." (Nehemiah 9:17 KJV)
What about?
Yes, our God is still a gracious and merciful God!
"Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God." (Nehemiah 9:31 KJV)
But, what about when His grace is cut off? What about when He turns His wrath upon this world? What happens when His mercy runs out?
When MERCY runs out
When He turns His wrath upon this world; there will be nothing in all of creation that will be able to stay His hand. Remember, when the precious prophet Daniel said:
"And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?" (Daniel 4:35 KJV)
One day, our Lord our God will show us that all of the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing. We will look up and realize that He has removed His restrainer:
"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way." (2 Thessalonians 2:7 KJV)
Then, we will get to witness His wrath turned upon this earth. Our Lord’s Word tell us that our Christ will come to this earth as a flaming fire with His mighty angels and ten thousand of His saints!
"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 KJV)
You may ask, when can we expect to see these things happen? When? On the day that our Lord moves from His throne of mercy and grace.
Disturbs you..
If the wrath of our Lord disturbs you, remember that as I write this, our God still sits ready to pardon! If you are reading this and you do not know our God or obey the gospel of Jesus Christ; confess and believe in the Lord Jesus!
As our precious brother Paul states:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
Our Redeemer Lives
If you believe in the Lord Jesus, knowing of our Lord’s coming wrath should move you to want to warn others! Warn others that our God is a merciful and gracious God but He is also a just God!
And, you should have no concerns of what will happen to you on the day that our Lord turns His vengeance upon this world. Why shouldn’t you?
Because the precious patient saint Job told us that our Redeemer lives and in the last days He will stand upon this earth!
"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God" (Job 19:25-26 KJV)
Christ is our salvation and whether we be wake or sleep; we shall live with Him!
"For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him." (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 KJV)
