Strangers and pilgrims, also known as solitary wanderers on this earth.
Strangers and Pilgrims
This world has had the privilege to welcome many strangers and pilgrims.
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." (Hebrews 11:13 KJV)
Men and women who were too good for this world.
Hebrews eleven says that these individuals passed through this world knowing that they must return to the place from whence they came.
"For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned." (Hebrews 11:14-15 KJV)
Seeking a PLACE
These individuals wandered through this life; not looking to make this place their home.
Instead, they constantly searched for a heavenly place.
A place where our God will not be ashamed to say that He is their God!
"But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city." (Hebrews 11:16 KJV)
Yes, these men and women truly knew where they were headed!
Not my HOME
These, solitary wanderer’s, recognized this earth for what it is; something to pass through.
They saw their time on this earth as nothing more than a vapor:
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14 KJV)
And, when this short life is over; these individuals planned to return to their home.
