The human soul comes from our God; for He gives us the spirit that inhabits our body.

"Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein" (Isaiah 42:5 KJV)

One of the greatest preachers of the twentieth century reminded me that the human soul is the most precious thing that we will ever handle. Why? Let’s talk about it!

The Human Soul

The human soul is eternal! We do not cease to exist upon death; we go on to the next life! Some will head toward eternal punishment in the place where the precious prophet Isaiah says; the worms cover thee.

"Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee."
(Isaiah 14:11 KJV)

Others will find peace as they lay in death:

"He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness." (Isaiah 57:2 KJV)

And we know from our Lord and Savior, that more will go to the place of eternal punishment than those who will go on to find eternal peace.

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
(Matthew 7:13-14 KJV)

If you want..

Our time on earth, sets up how we will spend our time in eternity. If you want to spend your eternity in peace; confess and believe in the Lord Jesus.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
(Romans 10:9-10 KJV)

If you want to spend your eternity in torment; do nothing! Do whatever it is that you are doing right now! Keep living your life the way you are living! Keep getting up each day saying, “I can manage my life without Christ”!

You do not…

You do not have to be the most egregious sinner, the most atrocious person or the vilest of reprobates. Actually, you can be the nicest person in the world; it will not matter! If you do not know Christ, you will spend your time in eternity in eternal torment alongside the most vilest of individuals.

Why? Because everyone in hell has one thing in common; they never called on the name of Jesus!

Take care of yours

I agree, the human soul is the most precious thing that we will ever handle. If you have not taken care of yours; now is the time to confess and believe in the Lord Jesus.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
(Romans 10:9-10 KJV)

For He stands at the end of the trail for each of us!

If you have taken care of your soul and you know that eternal peace with our Lord awaits you! Are you helping others get their soul ready? Are you warning others of the eternal torment that awaits many?

If not, take your instructions from our precious brother James, and start turning sinners from the error of their ways!

"Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." (James 5:20 KJV)
