Reader, are we not immortal?
LIVE forever
Over the span of time, this world have seen many of men. Men who refuse to die, men who want to die and men who want to live forever.
Of the three groups, the last group got it right! For we do live forever.
Our Lord’s Word says that:
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment"
(Hebrews 9:27 KJV)
But, you may be saying what about death!?!
Once to DIE
It is true that man has only a few days on this earth; for as the Lord’s Word says:
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
(James 4:14 KJV)
For at our appointed time our mortal body will cease to live; returning to the dust:
"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."
(Genesis 3:19 KJV)
And, giving way to our immortal body.
"For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."
(1 Corinthians 15:53 KJV)
Two buckets
Afterwards, comes the judgment of our poor lives. And, regardless of what this lying world has to say; our lives can be summed up into one of two buckets.
Those who accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and those who never knew Him.
One group, will live forever in that place of eternal torment reserved for Satan and his angels:
"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels"
(Matthew 25:41 KJV)
The other group, will find peace waiting for them:
"He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness."
(Isaiah 57:2 KJV)
Immortal lives
Returning to the opening statement: Yes, we are immortal. And where we live out our immortal lives is a choice that we all must make.
The choice is yours!
